Personal Finance 101
I watch a lot of my friends start to acquire their own cars, HDB flats, condos, Bukit Timah landed properties. Looking back, we were all about equal 20 years ago and we are so different financially now. There are a lot of materials out there in print or online about how to better manage your personal finance. However, most of these materials are written for USA or other countries.
I am not going to say that I am qualified to tell you what to do with your money, but I have truck loads of experience on what not to do with your money. Experience is what you get when you did not get what you wanted. Given the chance, I rather spend a couple of weeks/months/years educating myself through courses or self reading about what I should avoid doing with my money than to learn them through experience. As such, I wanted to start a blog about how to manage personal finance intelligently for folks who are located in Singapore. I would be inviting people I know to contribute to the blog. Visitors are most welcome to state their comments and I will even highlight the good ones.
First up is how to organize this blog… I reckon it will be logical to divide things out into topics and group
Credit Card
Debts
Property
Vehicle
Big Ticket Items (Boat, TV, HiFi, etc)
Starting your own business
Investments overseas
I dunno, I am just a regular bloke, I will write them out as I go along.
